About

I’m a software engineer based in Lahore, Pakistan. I’ve been building web applications for about seven years, mostly in Ruby on Rails, React and JavaScript, and working remotely with distributed teams for most of that time.

Right now I split my time between two engagements. At Intercom I work on the reporting product — external report sharing, scheduled delivery, and the data pipeline behind it. At Kimberly-Clark, through Toptal, I build Node.js APIs for a global customer identity platform and the event-driven pipeline that keeps product data consistent across their brands.

The work I find most interesting sits where product meets infrastructure: a notification platform I helped scale to millions of webhook requests a day, a reporting backfill across a dozen Elasticsearch indices, identity systems that have to be both invisible and correct. Most of what I write about here comes out of that — the problems that only show up under load, and what it actually takes to fix them.

Outside of client work I’m interested in systems-level engineering, and in how far AI-assisted development can be pushed on real production codebases.
